Coal India Limited or CIL, is a coal mining and refining corporation that is owned by the Government of India, and it has its headquarters located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is known to be the largest coal producer in the world and is recognized as a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). CIL is also the seventh largest employer in India as it has nearly 272,000 employees.
