The Ministry of Home Affairs is accepting applications from eligible and desirous candidates for the post of Constable Driver on a permanent employment basis. As mentioned in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 official notification, the recruitment will be made for 1 reserved post of OBC and 1 for UR. The candidates should have passed the 10th standard and possess a driving license for driving a commercial light motor vehicle. Applicants must have the ability to read English numerals and figures as well as knowledge of motor mechanisms (able to remove minor defects in vehicles. Candidates will also be recommended for this post if they have three years of service as a Home Guard or Civil Defence Volunteer. The interested candidates should not be above 25 years of age. Age relaxation will be offered for up to 40 years for candidates currently engaged with state/ central government services. The candidates will be paid a monthly salary based on pay level 2 in the pay matrix (Rs.19,900-63,200).

The closing date of application submission will be 60 days from the date of publication of this job advertisement. The desirable candidates will be selected depending on a set of factors (Document Verification, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, Written Examination, Driving Test, Medical Examination) under Stage 1 to Stage 5.

As mentioned in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 official notification, only SC/ST candidates who are not employed anywhere will be paid TA for attending the interview if allowed by the rules.
